Time for Valentine's Cookies

Every year I look forward for the time to make Valentine's Day cookies. This year I have some ideas that I can't wait to put in action.

In this post I am sharing with you some Valentine's Day Cookies I had made in the past and will link the videos so that you can see how I made some of them.

I love to use the wet on wet technique to decorate Valentine's Day cookies. I am not sure why I like this decorating technique so much, maybe it's because you can create several designs with not so much effort and the cookies look really cute and yummy!

Here are some pictures of mini heart cookies made with this technique.

The most important part of this technique is to first prepare the flooding consistency icing and then divide it in separate bowls and tint it in the colors of your choice.

So the icing you will be using will have the same consistency but different colors and this will create the magic in your cookies. The icings will mix very easily and you will be able to create beautiful designs. Click HERE

In one of my first videos on Youtube, I explained to you how I decorate cookies by just using one icing consistency, instead of preparing both the outline and flooding consistency icings. I like to just use one consistency because it saves time and I don't make too much of a mess on my kitchen. I would say that it is my favorite cookie decorating technique.  Click HERE

Chocolate is a staple on Valentine's Day and I used chocolate ganache to decorate these cookies, the ganache gives a twist to my traditional royal icing cookies. Click HERE

I like to be creative and like to use what I have handy for ideas, so I used these cute retro Valentine's cards as a template to cut and decorate the cookies. Click HERE

I love to multitask with my cookies and use them as decorations. When I saw this cookie cutter set, I couldn't resist buying it and so I put it in my Amazon cart and it has become one of the most versatile cookie cutters in my set. I made these cookies using the cookie cutter set and decided to transform them into a Valentine's Day banner for my house! Click HERE
