How to use your decorated cookies this coming Christmas

Are you looking forward to Christmas?

We all have been living unusual times and are looking forward to our lives going back to "normal." Yet, I am so grateful that in this time at home, I have enjoyed so much of my family, we have tried to use this time to learn new things, to finish past projects, to exercise, to pray together, to prepare complicated family recipes, and so much more. So in three words, we have been: Eating, Praying and Loving...yes, like in the movie (or book).

We have tried to live and enjoy the Now, doing all what we can do to stay healthy and finding courage to continue with our lives.

Today that it is almost the last day of July, (I can't believe it) I want to share a new Christmas family tradition, that started last year on how to use your decorated cookies this coming Christmas.

It was almost Christmas and I hadn't baked the cookies for my family, so I thought that it would be good if my daughter could help me on the decorating part, and as she was decorating the cookies, I was wrapping presents and the idea to put the cookies on the presents came along. It was such a nice touch to the presents that everyone really seemed to enjoy.

This is a great family activity, the kids will enjoy decorating the cookies so much. They could use edible markers or use the watercolor technique.

One thing that you need to remember is that Christmas cookies need to be delicious, click here for a great recipe.

If you are looking for a royal icing recipe you can watch this video on YouTube and here in the blog this tutorial will be helpful. Click here

Grandparents will love to receive a cookie decorated from their grandchildren, and will love the originality of each of the cookies, remember that the cookies don't need to be perfect, they need to be delicious and will need the most important ingredient...LOVE!

And, am I looking forward for Christmas?....Yes, I am looking forward for Christmas!! but I am also looking forward to live one day at a time and to enjoy things that I didn't enjoy in the past and continue baking cookies for you all.

Enjoy the last days of Christmas in July 2020 ...

How to decorate your kitchen for Christmas

Here is a video if you want to check it out

If you are like me and find joy remembering of happy moments in your life, the pictures that I will share in this post really bring joy to me and hope it will bring joy to you too!

With this global pandemic, I have had time to take a look at all the pictures I have and find these pictures of my kitchen and thought that they will be perfect to share  for this Christmas in July.

For so long I have ever wanted to decorate my kitchen hen for Christmas but for one or other reason I never did.

My idea was to decorate it with a bakery themed like ginger bread cookies, but then I thought... what about if I used cookie cutters instead?

And having choose the cookie cutters as my focal point, the other decorations came along.

My kitchen is white, so it is the perfect canvas for any color combination I wanted to choose.

I also have a lot of black and white items and red and copper appliances, so I choose, white, black, red, copper and green as my color palette.

I had so much fun decorating my kitchen and really love how it look.

Most of the things I already have them from other Christmas, so I did not expend so much money, the only thing I bought were the command strips.

I hope that this #2020ChristmasinJuly you and your family take some time see some Christmas pictures and savour and rejoice in those moments.  Also July is the perfect time to start planning your Christmas decorations and now that you have time take a look in your storage boxes and I am pretty sure you will find a lot of things that you can reused and add a little jolly Christmas joy!
