There’s something so special about gathering with family and friends for Memorial Day weekend, but let’s be honest… sometimes life gets busy, and sometimes the weather just doesn’t cooperate! Here in Houston, it feels like we’ve had several rainy Memorial Day weekends in a row, making outdoor grilling plans a little tricky.
That’s why these easy hamburger sliders have become one of our favorite cozy alternatives to traditional grilled burgers. They’re quick, flavorful, family-friendly, and perfect for those days when you want all the delicious burger flavors without standing outside by the grill.
What I love most about this recipe is how customizable it is. Just like when making homemade burgers, you can season the meat exactly how your family likes it. Add your favorite cheeses, toppings, or sauces and make them your own!

Ingredients for Hamburger Sliders
- 1 pound ground beef
- 12 sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 3 tbsp diced onion
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 10 Cheddar cheese slices
- 3 tbsp bbq sauce
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp light mayoinasse
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp Italian parsley ( chopped )
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds (optional)
How to Make Easy Hamburger Sliders
Step 1: Sauté the Onion and Garlic
Start by sautéing the onion and garlic until fragrant and soft. This adds so much flavor to the meat mixture.
Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef, season to taste, cover, and cook until juicy and perfectly browned. One of my favorite things about using my Dutch oven is knowing the meal is going to turn out packed with flavor every single time!
Once the meat is cooked, I like to transfer it to a mesh sieve to drain the extra juices so the bread stays nice and fluffy instead of soggy when I assembly the sliders. Then, I quickly wipe the Dutch oven clean with a napkin and return the meat to the Dutch oven and add the remaining ingredients.
Step 3: Assemble the Sliders
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Layer the bottom rolls with cheese, the juicy meat mixture, another layer of cheese, and finish with the top rolls.
Mix the melted sugar with the other ingredients and put it in the microwave for 10-25 seconds until everything is melted and well combine. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
Step 4: Bake Until Golden
Bake until the cheese is melted and the tops are warm and golden brown, from 20-30 min.
Serve immediately with chips, fries, pickles, or your favorite summer sides.
