         Chocolate Ganache Orange Shortbread 

Prep time: 15 min


                     BakeL 8-10 min

                             Servings: 6-8 


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 6 tbsp powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange blossom water
  • 2 tbsp  orange zest
  • Pinch salt

Procedure

  1. 1) Sift the salt with the flour and set aside. Using a stand mixer, beat the butter at medium speed for 1 minute. Add the powdered sugar and continue mixing for 4-5 minutes until the mixture is light in color and fluffy.


  2. 2)Slightly beat the yolk, orange zest, vanilla, and orange blossom, then add it to the butter mixture. Continue beating for 1-2 minutes until everything is thoroughly mixed.

  3. At the lowest speed, start adding the flour until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl.


  4. 3)Place the dough on a parchment paper and shape it into a log. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4-6 hours.


  5. 4) Preheat the oven to 325°F. Slice the dough into 1/4-inch pieces and place them on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges of the cookies start to turn golden and can easily be moved from the mat. Transfer to a cooling rack.


  6. Once the cookies are cool, dip one side of each cookie in chocolate ganache and enjoy!
